Animal cruelty comes in many different forms ranging from animal testing to factory farming. However, there are only two types of animal abuse. There is passive cruelty and active cruelty. Passive cruelty is classified by cases of neglect. Active cruelty implies malicious acts where a person deliberately causes harm to an animal. Recent studies have shown in domestic violence cases towards animals that of violence spills over into family households as well. Domestic violence towards animals has proven to indicate a strong connection with domestic violence in family homes.
